Occupational Hygiene

Our occupational hygienist is a certified occupational hygienist (COH) with the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists (AIOH), a certified industrial hygienist (CIH) with the American Board of Industrial Hygiene (ABIH) and a member of the Australian Institute of Dangerous Goods Consultants (AIDGC).

Airsafe's occupational hygiene professionals anticipate, recognise, evaluate and control workplace and environmental hazards, with a particular emphasis on chemical, physical and biological hazards.

Airborne Contaminants Airborne Contaminants Airsafe conducts monitoring for most airborne contaminants including: Nuisance dusts, toxic dusts, organic dusts Inhalable size fraction and respirable size fraction Toxic gases, irritant gases, asphyxiant gases, motor-vehicle exhaust Solvents and organic vapours Toxic and irritant chemical vapours Odour identification Air monitoring can be used to measure personal exposure to chemicals and dusts by comparing results to published exposure standards.

Dangerous Goods Dangerous Goods Dangerous good are substances that are explosive, stored under pressure, flammable, highly reactive, poisonous, radioactive or corrosive. Storage and transport of dangerous goods is regulated because of the high risk associated with these substances. Indoor Environment Indoor Environment Indoor air quality has increased in importance as more workers are confined to modern offices with controlled heating, ventilation and air-conditioning systems. Outbreaks of Legionnaires’ Disease are an indication that some of these systems require higher levels of maintenance to ensure a healthy environment.
